The ATK-MED intelligent safety power-distribution system is designed for medical locations of Group 2, coordinating power and monitoring with location classifications and medical-equipment safety requirements. Design must consider applicable requirements, including IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60364-7-710.
Electrical isolation of upper-level power distribution and IT systems through medical isolation transformers, combined with continuous insulation monitoring, reduces the risk of a ground fault causing power supply interruption to critical loads. Specific protection cooperation should be based on project design.
The system monitors the insulation status, load current and transformer temperature, and provides operating status and abnormal alarm information to users and maintenance personnel.
Select medical isolation transformers and insulation monitors according to the intended location. Refer to the technical documentation for the specific model and applicable standards for leakage current, measuring current and related requirements.
The alarm panel should clearly display fault information to facilitate operation and maintenance personnel to understand the cause of the abnormality.
