Application scenarios
Material welding in automobile manufacturing and aerospace puts forward different requirements for resistance welding equipment. The medium frequency resistance welding machine forms the welding current through AC rectification, inverter, voltage transformation and secondary rectification. Its frequency and waveform characteristics are different from ordinary power frequency equipment. Monitoring and protection solutions should be selected according to the specific equipment structure.
Resistance welding standards and safety requirements
The welding gun, work piece, equipment structure and ground connections may create different current return paths. The protective action may be related to the process current, leakage path or fault. The reasons should be analyzed based on the measurement and equipment structure. The protective device cannot be canceled just because of the occurrence of tripping. Ground connections and fault current protection should follow the equipment instructions and applicable requirements.
Electrical safety solutions
Circulating and fault currents can create an electric-shock hazard. Design protection around the supply frequency and waveform, grounding connections, equipment construction and operating environment; no single body-current value should be treated as a universal safety limit. Electrical-safety monitors may be selected for medium-frequency spot welders according to the equipment, with monitoring and protective actions coordinated in the project design.
